These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FontsMarket.com ("Site", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About the Service

FontsMarket.com is a directory and discovery platform for fonts. We index and display font files contributed by font designers, font foundries, and community members. The Site allows visitors to browse, preview, and download fonts, and to view license information provided by the font's submitter or original author.

We are an aggregator, not a font foundry or font licensor. Font files and the rights to them belong to their respective authors, designers, and foundries.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site, and at least 18 to upload fonts or enter into any monetary arrangement (including donation links). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@fontsmarket.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Font Licenses — Important: User Responsibility

This section is important. Please read it carefully.

3.1 We Display License Information As-Is

Each font listing on the Site shows a license category (for example: "Free", "Free For Personal Use", "Donationware", "Shareware", "Demo", or similar). This license information is provided to us by the person who uploaded the font, or is derived from publicly available metadata about the font. We do not independently verify the accuracy of license information, and we make no representation, warranty, or guarantee that the license category shown for any font is correct, complete, current, or applicable to your intended use.

3.2 You Are Responsible for Verifying the License Before Use

Before you download, install, or use any font from this Site — especially for any commercial, broadcast, embedded, redistributed, or monetised use — you are solely responsible for independently verifying the actual license terms with the font's original author, designer, or foundry.

License categories displayed on the Site are general indicators and do not replace the original license agreement that accompanies the font. The original license — typically included in the font's download archive as a "License", "Read Me", "EULA", or similar file — is the authoritative source. If the displayed category and the original license conflict, the original license controls.

3.3 Common License Categories — What They Mean and What They Do Not Mean

• "Free" or "100% Free" typically means the font may be used at no charge for personal and commercial projects, but the original author may still impose conditions (e.g., no redistribution, attribution required, no modification). You must read the original license to know what is permitted.
• "Free For Personal Use" means the font may only be used for personal, non-commercial projects. Using it commercially (including logos, products for sale, paid client work, monetised videos, or any commercial context) typically requires a separate paid license from the author. Do not assume "Free For Personal Use" includes any commercial use.
• "Donationware" means the author requests a donation if you find the font useful, with terms varying by author.
• "Shareware" or "Demo" means the font is not free, even if it can be downloaded; full use typically requires purchase from the author or foundry, and the file you download may be incomplete or watermarked.

The above explanations are general, not authoritative. Always confirm with the font's original author or foundry.

3.4 No Warranty as to License Accuracy

The Site, the license categories shown, and any license-related text are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of license information shown on the Site;
• We are not liable for any loss, damage, claim, copyright dispute, takedown, legal cost, lost revenue, or other consequence arising from your reliance on license information shown on the Site;
• If you use a font on the basis of a license category shown on the Site and later find that category was inaccurate or inapplicable, the responsibility and consequence of that use lies with you, not with us.

We may correct license information at any time when notified of an error, but we are under no obligation to investigate, validate, or confirm the license of any font on the Site.

3.5 Reporting an Incorrect License

If you are the font's original author, designer, or rights holder and believe a font is listed with an incorrect license, or if you wish to have a font removed, please contact us at support@fontsmarket.com or via the "Report" link on the font's page. We will respond promptly and remove or correct content in line with the takedown process in Section 6.

4. Uploads and User-Contributed Content

If you upload a font or other content to the Site, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the author or rights holder of the content, or have all necessary rights and permissions to distribute it;
• The license you declare for the content is accurate, complete, and authorised by the rights holder;
• The content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
• The content does not contain malware, viruses, or other harmful code;
• You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, index, distribute, and make the content available to Site visitors in accordance with the license you declared.

You retain ownership of content you upload. You may request removal of your content at any time by contacting us at support@fontsmarket.com.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site in violation of any law or regulation;
• Upload content you do not have the right to distribute;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or other users' accounts;
• Run automated scrapers, bots, or downloaders that exceed reasonable use, bypass access controls, or burden our infrastructure;
• Upload malware, exploit attempts, or content intended to harm users or the Site;
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• Use the Site to send spam, harassing communications, or unlawful messages;
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit access to the Site itself.

6. Copyright and Takedown

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, please send a notice to support@fontsmarket.com with:

• Your contact information;
• Identification of the work claimed to be infringed;
• The URL(s) of the allegedly infringing content on our Site;
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder;
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We respond to valid notices by removing or disabling access to the identified content. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.

7. Intellectual Property of the Site

The Site itself — including its design, logos, code, layout, written content (other than font files and user contributions), and the FontsMarket name — is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Site without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, font foundries, donation pages, or external services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, policies, or practices of any third-party site or service. Visiting any external link is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimers

The Site and all content on it are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
• Content (including font files) is accurate, complete, current, or free of viruses or other harmful components;
• License information shown on the Site is accurate (see Section 3);
• The Site will meet your specific requirements.

You use the Site at your own risk. You are responsible for scanning downloaded files with appropriate security tools before installation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall FontsMarket.com, its operators, owners, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, licensing fees, copyright claims, or other intangible losses — arising from or related to your use of the Site, the content on it, or any reliance on license information displayed on it, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the extent any liability may not be excluded under applicable law, our aggregate liability to you for all claims related to the Site is limited to USD 100 or the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FontsMarket.com and its operators from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property right; or (d) your use of any font in a manner inconsistent with its actual license.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, with or without notice, at any time and for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Site at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3.4, 9, 10, 11, and 13) will survive.

13. Changes to the Site and to These Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Site, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms; the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any revision. Your continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

15. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Site.
